Put a Demand on God's Word

There are times when you have prayed for something, asked God for it, and believed Him for it, but you still have not seen it happen.

Last week, I was standing in front of the mirror, talking to the Lord about some things I wanted to see happen sooner than later. I said, "Lord, You know I've been praying about this. I haven't seen anything happen."

I was trying to figure out if it was something I needed to do, if it was just His timing, or if it was something else.

And I heard very clearly: make a demand.

I want to be careful with that, because I am not saying we need to put a command on God. I am not saying we need to demand anything from God. That is not what I am saying.

What I believe He said to me was to put a demand on it.

Put a demand on the word.

Whatever it is that you prayed for, you asked for it. You came into agreement with God's word. Now, if something is standing in the way, you put a demand on that thing.

We know that God's word is true. We know that what God says does not come back void. When we pray according to His word, we are coming into agreement with what He has already said.

But there are times when the enemy gets in the middle of what is trying to take place.

I think about Daniel. Daniel prayed, and God had already answered. But there was a war taking place, and the answer was held up.

So when the Lord said, "Put a demand on it," I thought, "Wait, I know You're not telling me to put a demand on You."

And He was not.

He was telling me to put a demand on the word, to get in the middle of that war, and to take authority over what was trying to hold back what God had already promised.

A command comes before a demand.

If you have children, you understand this. You may tell your child, "I need you to do your chores." That is the command. But if your child does not do it, you go back and put a demand on it.

You say, "I told you I needed that done, and I need it done now."

It is the same way on a job. If you are in leadership, you may ask someone to have something done by five o'clock. But if it is 4:45 and it has not been addressed, you go back and say, "I asked for this to be done. I need this done by five o'clock."

That becomes a demand.

We may not like using those words because they sound harsh. In the natural, we soften them. But when it comes to Satan or any demonic interference taking place in my life, I do not want to ask the enemy to please let go of what God has promised me.

That is not how we are to operate.

God has given us authority.

The Bible says God will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory. Not according to what we think. Not according to what we see. Not according to what we feel like we have in the bank.

He said He would supply our needs according to His riches in glory.

So if God has already said it, I do not believe He is the problem. If we are not seeing it take place, and it is not His timing, then maybe the enemy is interfering with that thing coming to us.

That is when we come into agreement with the word and take the authority God has given us over the enemy.

That is when we put a demand on it.

We say, "Enemy, you need to move out of the way. God has given me authority, and I demand that this thing take place in Jesus' name."

There are things God has already put into effect. The sun rises. The night comes. The moon shows up when it is supposed to. Those are natural laws God has set in place.

There are also things in the Bible that God has already said. He said He has a plan for us, a plan for good and not to do us any harm. He said He would supply our needs. He said we have authority over the enemy. He said we are joint heirs through Jesus Christ. He said the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.

So we do not have to control those things. We have to come into agreement with them.

And when the enemy gets in the middle, we need to begin to speak God's word. We need to put it out into the atmosphere.

The Bible says life and death are in the power of the tongue. I believe that is real. That is why we confess. We do not just think about salvation. We confess it. We speak it. We come into agreement with it.

And I believe it is the same way with making a demand.

God wants us to come boldly to the throne of grace.

I always wanted my children to come to me and ask. I would tell them, "Just be ready for a no, and do not be mad if I say no. But do not have a relationship with me and not ask."

It is the same with God.

Go to Him. Ask Him. If He has given you a promise, and you know in your heart that it is not just timing, then put a demand on it.

Tell the enemy to get out of your way.

Tell him to loose what he has.

Receive what God has for you.

Period.

God's word does not come back void. Isaiah 55:11 says that. I also believe God wants us to put Him in remembrance.

I am always telling Him how much I love the things He has done for us. I am very appreciative. But I also go back and say, "God, You told me You were going to do this, and I do not see it happening. Is there something I have done? Is there something I need to do? Do I need to repent of something?"

I come respectfully, but I do go to Him.

If God has promised you something, go to Him. If He assures you that you are in alignment, that there is nothing you need to repent of, and that you are not waiting on His timing, then put a demand on it.

Not on God.

On the word.

On the enemy.

On whatever is standing in the way.

God is already working for us. We just need to work in alignment with what He is telling us to do.

So if you are waiting on something, and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are in good standing, that you have not caused it to be held up, and that God has not told you it is a timing issue, then put a demand on it.

Tell the enemy to loose what is yours, to let it go, and to get out of the way.

Come into agreement with God's word.

Speak it.

Stand on it.

And put a demand on it.
